11-10 4th First spring season. Mark Blackman nearly ejected for passing gas repeatedly at catcher, infuriating the home plate umpire. THIS IS A TRUE STORY!

Absolut Vodka 11-3 2nd No team entered in spring program. Team returns to action in fall and earns 2nd place trophy with an 11-3 record.

Tanqueray 14-6 1st Team captures first Division Crown in John Russ' first season as manager. Greg and Rick Hutson join team. New uniforms supplied by Tanqueray when Absolut is bought by Seagram's.

Kate's Irish Pub 7-6-1 4th Kate's Irish Pub opens in Springfield and agrees to sponsor the team. Mike "Brick" Brechtlein joins the team.
SPRING 1998

Kate's Irish Pub 12-9 3rd 1998 Playoff Tournament Champions!
Arguably this team's finest hour. Following a 5-9 start, Kate's wins 7 straight to qualify for playoffs and the team shaves John Russ's head back at Kate's. After finishing 3rd overall in the 1998 Early Open Playoff Tournament, the top two teams are disqualified for using non-rostered ringers, making Kate's the Champions, despite the incredulous refusal of FAS officials to acknowledge the rightful winners.

Kate's Irish Pub 6-8 5th Team receives higher seeding as a result of tournament finish, resulting in a disappointing 6-8 finish.

Kate's Irish Pub 8-12 T-3rd Star 3B "Brick" relocates to New York. Despite a dismal 8-12 record, the team ties for 3rd place.

Kate's Irish Pub 12-2 1st Team rebounds from tough spring with their best record ever to capture the Division Crown. Hank York joins team.

Kate's Irish Pub 9-5 T-2nd In a season marred by rainouts and no-show umpires, team finishes 2nd after winning final 4 games by forfeit.

Kate's Irish Pub 11-9 3rd Team competes in Division 3, highest level ever, and achieves 11-9 mark in Manager John Russ' final season. Russ relocates to Las Vegas, but still maintains team web site.

Kate's Irish Pub 10-4 2nd Late season loss drops Kate's to 2nd place. Patrick Corey leads team in HRs.
