"Great for eating, drinking, playing darts and talking with friends. The Monday open mic is the best in town by far, and the people who work there are terrific. Terrific, if you want good service, people to chat with and be friendly - service at Kate's is probably terrible if you need your butt-kissed, but who does?"

"Kate's is a friendly local Springfield full service bar and restaurant. They have both Irish and American menu items with a full bar. Large screen televisions, game darts and 3-4 nights a week live entertainment. Mike the owner hosts an open-mic on Monday's and you can catch local talent many nights. The is one of the only bars open past 11:00 p.m. in Springfield. Often holds special events during holidays."
  • What people are saying - Urbanspoon Review 3/2011

"Just what we were looking for: Good Irish food with Irish pub atmosphere. Black & tan was perfectly poured. Traditional corned beef and cabbage was great, as was their burger. Live music was enjoyed by all. Restaurant area and bar area (with tables and high tops) are joined, separated by a low wall. Sports on the tellies, or you can watch active dart area to the side."

"Local couple.. Let me say that the food is surprisingly good. Let the masses fight for a table at Mike's, while we enjoy the great service from the very nice and efficient wait staff, to the perfectly cooked steaks."
  • What people are saying - Washington Post Editor Review 12/2010

"The menu offers many non-Irish items like jalapeno poppers, wings and nachos, for starters. Plus there are burgers and barbecue, or more traditional entrees like meat-and-potato pie, corned beef, or fish and chips. The crowd is mosly young, 20 to 35; but like in any good Irish bar, there's the occasional lively old-timer."

"Nestled way in the back of Concord Centre Plaza, you'll find this classic Irish pub where there is never a shortage of regulars enjoying good times with a pint. Kate's has a menu typical of most pubs; you'll find fish and chips, corned beef and cabbage and shepherds pie in addition to burgers and salads with a low key, neighborhood vibe to match. In addition to offering a small Sunday brunch menu that's a total steal, Kate's is known as a great place to go to sing karaoke and catch live local music."
